Cuprian Smithsonite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Kamariza Mines, Agios Konstantinos, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Massive/Crystalline
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.2 × 4.2 × 2.5 cm
Description

Firstly I have to say that the color is much better in person! This is a mass of solid blue-green smithsonite which is remarkably translucent. I intended to have this faceted but decided to auction it instead. Extremelly hard to find something like this from Lavrion as most of the smithsonite from there is usually crusts or tiny crystals or botryoids.
