Helvine Pyrite Smoky Quartz Spessartine Albite & Muscovite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Wushan Mine, Tongbei, Yunxiao County, Fujian Province, China (Peoples Republic)
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.5 × 6.3 × 2.9 cm
Description

This is an insane combo specimen: Firstly it hosts two helvite crystals, at least half a centimeter each! Then there is this very sharp cubic crystal of pyrite atop. Several lustrous, gemmy smoky quartz crystals are scattered all over the specimen which is springled with small gem orange spessartines. All of these on a bed of well-formed albite crystals, accented by nearly textbook muscovite crystals. Tired of reading species? Me too! The main mineral is the helvite here and also the pyrite is very rare from this mine, let alone the combination of all of these minerals.
