Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Serpieri Mine, Kamariza, Agios Konstantinos, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
12.5 × 8.4 × 6.1 cm
Description

A huge fluorite crystal, with an edge of 10cm in length! This piece comes from a new find of fluorite in Sounion mine. The frosty faces are a very unusual characteristic for Lavrion fluorite. The colors are pale bluish to greenish and light purple on the edges. It was broken naturally into the pocket and then recrystallized and later on some aragonite covered it's base. The colors are much better in person and they look much better in daylight rather than in artificial light.
