Description

Single sharp rhombohedral crystal of calcite, variety cobaltoan, with the surface overgrown by a second generation of scalenohedral cobaltoan calcite of crystals of a superb fuchsia colour. Crystal development is very good and they are extremely bright. The piece represents a good example of this type of material from Kambove where the second generation is partially coated by lustrous black botryoidal heterogenite.

Collected at the Kambove Mine by René Virlet, a Belgian colonist in Congo who travel back definitively to Belgium in 1968.
