Description

Arborescent growths of creamy yellow willemite that are sometimes coated by snow-white hydrozincite. Under long and short ultraviolet light hydrozincite fluoresces whitish-blue while willemite fluoresces bright green under short ultraviolet light. Cute specimen from the super classic European locality.

In Plombières zinc and lead was produced until in 1922 when the last 5 reduction furnaces ceased production. Collected before 1980 by Joseph Verbist, who was the CEO of the CMB (Compagnie Maritime Belge).
