Description

5 specimens of staurolite, 1 composed by a single crystal and 4 twinned as a Saint Andreas cross. Some rounded red crystals of almandine are associated at the surface. Very uncommon specimens from the Gatumba area (Rwanda), well known for the pegmatitic deposits and exploited long ago by Belgian companies during the colonial period. Dimensions are of the biggest piece.

These crystals were collected in the late 1960’s by Professor A. Delvaux (1919-1998). Ex A. Delvaux collection. They come with a copy of the original label.
