Description

A rich rock ore specimen of densely crystallized, translucent brown willemite associated to black euhedral franklinite. Under short UV, willemite shows classic neon-green fluorescence. Mn2+ is the cause of this fluorescence because it replaces Zn2+. Pb as a co-activator is the pre-ignition of the manganese fluorescence. Franklinite is not fluorescent.
