Description

Attention to this rare piece from Kobokobo. It has been analysed and the results show that it is formed by black rounded crystals of fluorcalciomicrolite, imbedded in an orange-yellow matrix of hydroxycalciomicrolite. Thin layers of white kaolinite and opal fill some thin cracks and cover surfaces.

The piece is from a small collection of reference pieces, from Mr. Robert Verdoodt, who was working in the laboratories of Union Minière du Haut-Katanga and evacuated to Belgium after the beginning of the Congo crisis in 1960.
