Description

Gitter quartz is a rare form of growth. It can be confused by similar Japanese twinned quartz, but they are not. This specimen is a good representative aggregate of intergrown gitter quartz crystals, mostly double-terminated, that grew epitaxially in four directions out of the faces of orthoclase crystals, now gone. The glassy green epidote crystals add a special touch to this rare piece.
