Description

Fibrous crystals of glaukosphaerite of a nice clear pistachio green colour associated as elongated globular aggregates on a matrix of dark green malachite. This is one of the hardest species to obtain for Congo collectors, cause a very limited amount were collected more than 50 years ago, initially described as “Kasompiite”.

Acquired before 1980 it is the Georges Vanacker* specimen #5/817 (with label).

*Vanackerite from Tsumeb was named after him.
