Description

From the Swambo Hill, the type locality of swamboite-(Nd), this specimen has literally hundreds of undamaged, sharp bright canary yellow or grey-brown soddyite crystals with very good definition and some areas rich in hairy to thin prismatic crystals of yellow swamboite-(Nd) and minor orange curite.

It was in the collection of Joseph Lhoest, a Belgian doctor who worked in D.R. of Congo for many years and it is well known for the articles about Congo in Journals such as the Mineralogical Record and Lapis.

Found before 1985. Ex Joseph Lhoest specimen.
