Description

Gitter quartz is a rare form of growth. It can be confused by similar Japanese twinned quartz, but they are not. This specimen is a good representative aggregate of intergrown gitter quartz crystals, some double-terminated, that grew epitaxially in four directions out of the faces of a prismatic orthoclase crystal. Furthermore, these orthoclase crystals are twinned after the Baveno Law. No significant damages to report.

Found in 03-04/2020.
