Description

Lustrous gemmy crystals of proustite of very intense red colour, with well-exposed crystals that are well terminated. The matrix is a heavy block of native arsenic, with some cavities partially filled by white and yellow arsenolite crystals. Found at Svornost, “The” super classic locality, because it is the oldest uranium mine in the world and the oldest mine still in use in Europe (Mindat).

It comes with an original label from Albert Van Hee, who visited the mine in 1973. Ex Paul Van hee collection.
