Description

Old specimen of bright, bottle green tabular crystals of torbernite on matrix from Shinkolobwe. Far better and bigger torbernites have been found in Katanga in other mines, but these old torbernites from Shinkolobwe are a must in any collection, and they are not easy to obtain, if not from recycled collections. Furthermore, the matrix is form by dark green vandenbrandeite and some prismatic yellow crystals of sklodowskite.

From the collection of Achiel Moors, a Belgian colonist in the D.R. Congo from 1957 to 1972.
