Description

Piece of driftwood of cream and brown colour that has been completely replaced by silica and minor brown iron oxides. The piece is very well preserved and shows beautiful nodes, and some boreholes made by marine bivalves (i.e. teredo navalis).

This piece was found in the early 1980’s by Roger Gnat at the Käskorb quarry, that exploited a sand dune of Upper Cretaceous (Santonian age).
