Description

Prospecting the Marguerite Mine with the help of local miners we were able to extract nice matrix specimens of these fibrous brown-caramel vanadinites in a trip in 2015. The crystals groups form rounded aggregates and have an intense resinous lustre, partially coated by white calcite. Interestingly, the vanadinite crystals are elongated to acicular, which is very uncommon in the Mibladen district. These habit reminded us the arsenatian vanadinites from the Erupcion Mine in Mexico. So we did analyse these specimens and no As was found.

Self-collected on September 9th/2015.
