Description

Crystal of columbite-tantalite with rounded edges and corners due to transport and erosion. The tchiganda alluvials were worked for cassiterite, wolframite and columbite-tantalite, but not many specimens have arrived to mineral collections. It was recovered in the late 1950’s by Gabriel Fauvart.

Mr Fauvart was working in the port of Antwerp for the “Jules Nieberding & Fils” company and he had access to ore shipments, coming to Antwerp, from all around the world.
