Description

Prismatic crystal of cordierite replaced by a mix of clay minerals (type illite) known as “pinite”, in a matrix of altered pink granite of coarse grain. It is not from the classic localities at the Puy-de-Dôme (Auvergne), but from a small outcrop located in private terrain. The exact locality will be given to the buyer.

Found in 05/2016 by Cyriel Matthé with permission of the terrain owner.
