Description

Deep red lustrous rhombododecahedral crystal of almandine with good definition of stepped faces, in a matrix with black striated arfvedsonite crystals. The almandine has a contact with other crystals at one side but it has no damages.

Collected before 1960 at the Kamiaba region, a very remote locality close to the border with Zambia. Uncommon locality in collections, that has never been abundant at all. Ex Robert Verdoodt.
