Description

From a recent find at the Qalat-e Bala salt dome, this is a sharp zunyite crystal with very good lustre, coloured red by hematite microinclusions. Some metallic black lustrous hematite crystals form the matrix. The habitus is tetrahedral {111}, with the edges modified by cube faces {100}. The size is big for the locality, 17 mm from point to point. In pristine condition, no chippings!.

Found in January 2019.
