Description

Old-time classic fluorite from Seilles (Belgium). The colour is an attractive light blue, with a wide band of light purple colour at the centre, that is specially observed with backlight. It is a floater specimen, formed by smooth, naturally etched crystal faces and just a minor cleaved face. These pieces were found floating in a clay matrix, filling cracks in limestones.

It has no chippings, hard to find nowadays a floater piece such as this.

Found in the early 1970’s, it was acquired in 1973 by Gerard Vogel.
