Description

White fibrous crystals of chrysotile in a green oriented metamorphic matrix of serpentine. According to the associated label it is from the Mashaba mine (Zimbabwe), a locality that has produced millions of tons but it is not common in collections.

Ex. René Virlet specimen. Obtained in 1962 from Gilbert Gauthier, who carried out a collecting/buying trip in the early 1960’s throw Northern Rhodesia (Zambia), Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), South Africa and South West Africa (Namibia).
