Description

Black striated arfvedsonite crystals imbedded in a matrix hat forms a cavity lined by deep red almandine crystals with stepped and lustrous faces.

Collected before 1960 at the Kamiaba region (a very remote locality close to the border with Zambia) by Robert Verdoodt, who was working in the laboratories of Union Minière du Haut-Katanga and evacuated to Belgium after the beginning of the Congo crisis.
