Description

This fluorite was self-collected in 2009 at the Lhamda Mines, near Touroug, Er Rachidia, Morocco. It is a fluorite cube with crystal faces or contact surfaces with adjacent crystals, with moderate lustre and intense growing phantoms, from blueish near the core to a yellow exterior layer, which is typical for the locality. These fluorites present a very intense colour change if illuminated with the sun light, turning much more deep bluish green coloured than shown in the pictures here, but quite transparent under artificial light. It displays also a strong fluorescence under long, medium and short wave UV illumination.
