Description

A good rare and old specimen featuring a half spheroidal cavity with good coverage of well-defined azurite crystals completely replaced by lustrous malachite. An uncommon specimen from the Shangulowé Mine, where world-class specimens of malachite after baryte were found long ago. In this mine pseudomorphs after azurite are very rare.

It has been in my collection since 2010 and it was collected before 1960. Ex. Robert Verdoodt, who was working in the laboratories of Union Minière du Haut-Katanga and evacuated to Belgium after the beginning of the Congo crisis in 1960.
