Description

A “reinite” pseudomorph in a quartz matrix from an unusual area: Kalima, located in the DR Congo. This is an example of good size, where the original scheelite crystal is now completely replaced by black ferberite and white compact microcrystalline anthoinite that fills the numerous cavities. Remarkably in this piece, these geode-like voids are lined with well-defined lustrous ferberite crystals, which is uncommon.

Old example, collected in the late 1950’s. Ex. Francis Coune specimen.
