Description

Blue crystallized anhydrite, with net orthogonal cleavage surfaces on cream coloured calcite. Anhydrite from Congo is rare but these pieces from Kamoto are very rare, even in specialized Congo collections.

It is from a small collection of reference pieces, specimen N°40, from Mr. Robert Verdoodt, who was working in the laboratories of Union Minière du Haut-Katanga and evacuated to Belgium after the beginning of the Congo crisis in 1960.
