Description

Aesthetic piece of fine quality, colour and lustre features sharp pink scalenohedral crystals of cobaltoan calcite. Terminations are perfect, they have a thin coating of black heterogenite on some faces and are spotted by spheroidal groups of green kolwezite. These specimens were found at the end of the 1980’s at the Mashamba West Mine and are hard to find nowadays.

It is from the collection of Joseph Lhoest, a Belgian doctor who worked in D.R. of Congo for many years and it is well known for his articles about Congo in the Mineralogical Record.
