Description

Superb colourless crystals of grossular formed exclusively by the {110} rhombododecadron, with very good lustre and highly transparent. The matrix is flattened and the crystals are present at both sides. These transparent colourless grossular crystals are among the rarest at the Jeffrey Mine because it implies that there is an absence in the composition of strong chromophores elemens such as Fe, Ti, V, Cr or Mn.

The piece is in very good condition, and it was acquired on Sept. /1978 at the Brussels Mineral Show. Ex. René Virlet specimen.
