Description

Nice crystals of cordierite to 36 mm in size, of dark blue colour, imbedded in a quartz matrix. The surface has a green coating, probably because it is partially transformed to phyllosilicates (chlorite?). It was collected by Klaus Petitjean* on July/20th/2002. The exact locality in St Leonhard will be provided with the specimen in the label from Mr. Petitjean.

*Petitjeanite is named after him.
