Description

Well defined striated red crystals of cinnabar with resinous lustre from Almadén, “The” Super Classic Locality for this species already exploited by the Romans 2000 years ago. The specimen has a good size, with the matrix composed of black slate, white dolomite and golden pyrite, with some silver lustrous spheres of native mercury. The cinnabar crystals are distributed in different cavities.

Collected in the 1960’s.
