Description

A mass of blue-purple bornite of very intense metallic lustre in association with bronze-coloured renierite. This paragenesis was not rare in Kipushi, but it is scarcely represented in collections.

Collected before 1960, the specimen is from the stock of Robert Verdoodt, who was working in the laboratories of Union Minière du Haut-Katanga and evacuated to Belgium that very year, after the beginning of the Congo crisis.
