Description

Even if calcite is very common in Katanga, these specimens from Mindingi are really hard to find. It features light pink rounded crystals of calcite on a crust of white calcite.

From my own collection, it is an Ex. Robert Verdoodt specimen. Mr. Verdoodt was working in the laboratories of Union Minière du Haut-Katanga and evacuated to Belgium after the beginning of the Congo crisis in 1960.
