Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4 × 3 × 1.8 cm

3.00cm
Description

A group of translucent dolomite crystals with a very good lustre. They display multiple contact twins on {1000}, classic for the locality, producing an alignment of various crystals along the direction perpendicular to the twin plane. This alignment is also evidenced by striation along intersection of the {0001} and the main rhombohedral faces {10-11}. It is completely crystallized all around, with just a contact point to the matrix and in very good condition.

This specimen is from a limited find made by Francisco Maello (ES) in 1991.

Dolomite from Eugui is already considered a modern classic of the European mineralogy. Furthermore, the Azcarate Quarry is definitely closed.
