Description

Black rounded crystals of chromite from the ultramafic complex near Santa Cruz (Luzon, Philippines). Uncommon locality scarcely represented in collections. It comes with a label that reads Manilla, Philippines. It is probably from the Acoje Mine, that was the biggest active mine when the specimen was shipped to Belgium in 1976.

Ex. Josep Verbist, that was the CEO of the CMB (Compagnie Maritime Belge) in that period. His position allowed him the access to rare locality of many ore materials worldwide.
