Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Seilles, Andenne, Namur District, Belgium
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.7 × 5.5 × 3.1 cm
Description

Large octahedral crystal of fluorite from Seilles (Belgium), bicolored, mainly blue with a zone of light purple colour. It is a floater specimen, formed by naturally corroded crystal faces with no cleaved surfaces. I enhance here the good size and blue colour of this specimen. Just a small chipping that is not easy to find.

Acquired in ~1976-77, it is an Ex. Claude Hootelé specimen.
