Here is another old jewel from the Ennio Contarini collection (#5031), a “Weinschenkite”, old name for Churchite-(Y) from Auerbach, the zone of the type locality for the species. The matrix is prolific in cavities richly filled by white acicular crystals. Weinschenkite (of Laubmann) was the name given to the species after Ernst Weinschenk (1865-1921), Professor of Petrography, University of Munich, Germany. As all the Contarini collection, the specimen is from finds before the second World War.
