Description

Aggregate of orange-yellow coloured crystals of wulfenite from Mežica, with an intense resinous lustre. They have very lustrous, slightly curved prism {100} faces, which are transparent and deep orange. They are overgrown by the bipyramid {101} with intense yellow colour, and some are overgrown with small pyramidal crystals. Typical (001) faces in wulfenite are absent. Minor coatings of calcite complete the paragenesis. A good specimen from a classic European locality!.

Found in 1997. Ex. Johan Muizebelt (NL) specimen.
