Description

An interesting group of prase quartz crystals from the Segunda Esmeralda Mine. It is a self-collected specimen that features transparent quartz crystals coloured aark green -almost black- due to greenalite inclusions, a rare Fe silicate. According to Manteca & Ovejero (1992) the Cartagena-La Unión mining district has one the biggest greenalite deposits of the world.

Found in 2009.
