Taghouni Mine, Taghouni, Bou Azzer, Ouarzazate Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco

Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.6 × 2.9 × 2 cm
Description

Radiated aggregate of erythrite crystals with the characteristic crimson-red colour. Interestingly, the specimen was found at the Taghouni Mine, which has produced recently a very limited amount of erythrite crystals of this size.

Collected in May-June/2015 it is from the shaft (so the “new taghouni” mine), not from the old abandoned galleries located some tens of meters nearby.
