Description

An interesting group of cubic crystals of pyrite almost completely replaced by a mix of other sulphures: brassy pyrrhotite, black twinned sphalerite and bright silver galena. The matrix is mainly pyrrhotite and sphalerite, and the polycrystalline pseudomorphs are covered by flattened calcite rhombohedral crystals. Uncommon combination.

Acquired in 1989 by Marc Vanacker (BE).
