Locality:
Aïcha bel Lahcen, Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco
Class:
Crystals on Matrix

Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.3 × 3.1 × 2 cm
Largest Crystal:
0.60cm
Description

Highly lustrous and well defined tabular crystals of wulfenite that present two different colourations, from yellow to orange, with minor white calcite. The matrix is a mass of secondary wulfenite crystals with iron hydroxides.

This is a very interesting specimen because, even if wulfenites from Morocco are common, this locality (Aïcha Bel Lahcen) is certainly less known, and not very well represented in collections. We found this specimens in September 2015.
