Description

Doubly-ended striated crystal of rutile with complex multiple pyramidal terminations with a high lustre. The crystal measures 22x17x9 mm, has natural cracks refilled with quartz that forms the matrix completely. It is complete with a contacted area at the top. It comes with two previous labels, one of a well known American dealer, while the older one is from the A.E. Seaman Mineralogical Museum (specimen #DM6486), and reads that it was donated by Lucius L. Hubbard (1849-1933). An uncommon old time example of rutile from Austria. We keep it unclean as it was.
