Vanadinite On Quartz

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Apex Mine, San Carlos, Manuel Benavides Municipality, Chihuahua, Mexico
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.5 × 3.5 × 1.8 cm
Description

As a collector my main focus is on Mexican minerals and can vouch to the fact that vanadinite is not overly common in that country. Much comes in the form of endlichite from Erupcion Mine. Specimens from San Carlos Mine do not surface for sale very often and this is a delightful example from that location. Small, sharp, reflective crystals of the hexagonal prism form cover much of the display face and contrast nicely with the underlying quartz crystals
