Description

This is a beautiful polished opalised ammonite with a fantastic play of colours and attractive suture line patterns. It dates to the Cretaceous period and comes from the Mahajanga River Basin, near the village of Ambatolafia of northwest Madagascar. It was difficult to photograph without capturing reflections in the polished surface.
