Description

A nice old time terminated blue-john fluorite specimen from Windy Knoll Cavern, Castleton , Derbyshire, collected sometime in the early 1950's. This specimen is one of only a handful recovered from a very rare and now inaccessible locality. 

It comprises of a translucent cleaved cubes with slightly frosted, etched faces with stepped faces and sharp edges. The faces specked brownish inclusions of probably pyrite. The cubes appear yellowish but when viewed on edge show a Purple coloration zone in the outer layers of the crystals. 

Great condition, detachment damage only.
