Description

A very nice old time terminated blue-john fluorite specimen from the Famous Odin Mine, Castleton , Derbyshire, collected sometime in the early 1950's. This mine is one of the smaller and less often seen sources of 'Blue John' and this specimen is one of only a handful recovered from the now inaccessible locality.

It comprises of an opaque yellowish cleaved cube with lustrous, slightly etched and stepped faces and sharp edges. The faces covered with very tiny Blue-Purple speckles. Cleaved surfaces show colour variation from yellowish to brown in growth zones.
