Description

This is a very historically special and beautiful specimen of hematite on talc from a very rare locality. The sharp, reflective crystals are up to 1.3 cm across and contrast strongly with the talc matrix. 

The specimen has a strong provenance. The Russian label when translated tells that the specimen was part of the collection of 'The Natural Sciences Museum of Ilmen State reserve' which is the Urals branch of 'The Russian Academy of Sciences'. Ex. Krantz-Bonn.   There are also associated notes in conjunction with this specimen.
