Description

A very rare North Pennine fluorite specimen from a small trial lead level situated on the periphery of the main North Pennine mineralised zone.

Little now remains to be seen at this site and very few of these fluorite specimens were ever recovered.

Pale purple fluorite crystals to 8 mm partially coated with fine tan coloured cockscomb baryte clusters. The matrix is dolomite and the specimen sits nicely for display on a natural flat base.

Very hard to obtain material collected in the early 1990's.
