Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Moonen Bay, Isle of Skye, Scotland, United Kingdom
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7 × 5 × 3 cm
Description

Lustrous, blade-like stilbite crystals with snow white, prismatic laumontite and pink chabazite on basalt. This specimen is a lovely example of the association of these three minerals. Difficult to image and mush nicer in person. The Isle of Skye has produced the best zeolites ever found in Britain, however many of the sea cliff locations are extremely difficult of access.
